Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By inviting, accessing, or using CheeseBot (the "Service"), including the Discord bot and companion web portal, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

2. Compliance with Discord Policies

Use of the Service is subject to Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and Developer Policies. You agree not to use the Service in any way that violates Discord's platform rules.

3. Description of the Service

CheeseBot provides Discord-based utilities for Black Desert Online communities, including:

• A /fishlocator command for searching approved fish spot data and community-submitted proposals with acceptable vote scores
• A /fishsubmit command and web portal for submitting and voting on fish spot proposals
• A world boss timer using publicly available calendar data
• An attendance tracking command for guild events, with event and participant history stored and viewable by server admins via the web portal
• Automated contract renewal reminders that DM guild members before their contracts expire, based on expiration dates maintained in a guild-admin-configured Google Sheet; reminder message content is customizable per server; individual members may opt out of reminders per server using /reminder-optout

Features may change, be updated, or be discontinued at any time without prior notice.

4. Access Tiers

The web portal operates two access tiers:

• Community access: Any Discord user who authenticates via Discord OAuth may submit fish spot proposals (including an optional display name and screenshot) and cast up or down votes on pending submissions.
• Fish admin access: A designated allowlist of Discord user IDs may additionally approve or reject proposals, delete submissions, and directly manage the global fish spots database.
• Server admin access: Discord users with Manage Server permission in a guild where CheeseBot is active may log in to configure per-guild settings, including linking a Google Sheet for contract renewal reminders. By linking a sheet, the server admin represents that they have the right to share that data with the Service and that affected members have been appropriately informed.

5. User Responsibilities

• You are responsible for your use of the Service and any content you submit.
• You must not submit false, misleading, or harmful content.
• You must not attempt to exploit, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
• You must not use the Service for unlawful, abusive, or harmful purposes.

6. Submitted Content

By submitting content to the Service (including but not limited to fish spot data, locations, remarks, screenshots, or other media), you acknowledge and agree that such content becomes the property of CheeseBot. All rights, title, and interest in submitted content are assigned to CheeseBot upon submission.

CheeseBot may use, modify, reproduce, distribute, and display submitted content for any operational, promotional, or improvement-related purpose associated with the Service, without additional notice or compensation.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party platforms including Discord APIs, Google Calendar, and Google Sheets. Availability and functionality may depend on those services. CheeseBot is not responsible for outages or changes to third-party platforms.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. Information provided (including fish spot data, boss schedules, or AI-assisted responses) may not always be accurate or up to date. Community-submitted content has not necessarily been verified.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CheeseBot and its maintainers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service.

10. Termination

Access to the Service may be suspended or terminated for violations of these Terms, Discord's policies, or applicable law.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
